Joshua Odubu

Freelance Frontend Web Developer | ICT & AV Specialist

I build simple, reliable web tools for healthcare teams. Over three years of keeping NHS ICT and AV running has taught me what busy clinical staff need from technology: it has to work first time, then get out of the way.

Projects

Each one starts with a problem I’ve seen at work. Both are front-end prototypes you can try in the browser.

Alicia admin dashboard showing ticket totals, pending tickets, average resolution time and a filterable ticket table

Alicia Helpdesk

Front-end prototype
The problem
ICT and AV requests in medical education arrive by phone, email and in person, which makes them easy to lose and hard to measure.
What I built
A helpdesk where staff report issues and follow their ticket, plus an admin dashboard for ticket volume and resolution time, asset tracking, a knowledge base and reports.
What I’d do next
Add a Django back end with staff log-in and a real database, so tickets are saved and the dashboard reports on live data.
Built with
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
Dispenza home screen with an illustration of a pharmacist using the app, and navigation for dispense, dashboard, inventory and reports

Dispenza

Front-end prototype, with pitch deck
The problem
Clinics with unreliable internet still need to know what medicine they have left, or they run out without warning.
What I built
A dispensing and stock tracker designed to work offline: health workers log each dispense, add and adjust stock with expiry dates, and see levels on a dashboard.
What I’d do next
Add a back end that syncs each clinic’s offline records to a central database, so stock levels can be compared across sites.

This website

Hand-written HTML and CSS with no framework or build step. It’s built for keyboard and screen-reader users, follows your system’s dark mode, and the whole homepage weighs under 200 KB.

Experience

Support work taught me to fix things fast, explain them clearly and design for people under pressure. I bring the same habits to code.

  1. Frontend and full-stack development

    Self-directed, alongside full-time work

    • ALX Foundation Program: problem-solving through hands-on projects
    • The Complete Web Development Bootcamp (Dr. Angela Yu): HTML and CSS through JavaScript, back end and deployment
    • Shipped Alicia and Dispenza as working prototypes
  2. Senior ICT and AV Technician

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, Coventry, UK. 3+ years

    • Set up and maintain AV systems for clinical teaching
    • Troubleshoot IT issues before they delay patient care
    • Support clinical and admin teams across multiple departments
    • Train staff on new technology and document fixes clearly

I work with

  • HTML and CSS, including Tailwind and Bootstrap
  • JavaScript
  • Git and GitHub
  • Responsive and accessible layouts

I’m learning

  • Python and Django
  • MySQL

Writing

  • From helpdesk tickets to code

Why a hospital ICT technician started building software, and what support work teaches you about design.
